The Design lifecycle.
Dream it.
It all begins with an idea. At the beginning of each season, I compiled global trend research to and developed new innovations with a strong focus on consumer insights to deliver customer-appropriate ranges.
Build it.
After the trend direction was aligned on with all stakeholders I presented an extensive variety of style options to buyers and other designers. Internal alignment was critical at this point and Ied & restructured the trend & consumer research process, leading to better sales & product development
Grow it.
Each collection was developed to streamline the brand and create a clear, cohesive brand story to deliver the best possible experience to the consumer.
Working with a global team.
I worked with suppliers from all over the world, particularly in China, India, Portugal, and Turkey. The videos below (taken from a factory visit in China in 2019) will give you a sense of the scale and technical demands of the production process. I was in constant contact with the factories throughout the process to ensure all designs were manufactured on schedule and within budget. I managed the total development of the garments including all technical packs, negotiating the best prices, preparing and taking part in fittings, and managing quality control.
The end product.
Once the ranges were complete, I worked closely with the Marketing team to ensure the vision for the collection was communicated to customers through photoshoots and promotional videos.
At this stage, the design cycle for the following season has already begun!
